We’re The Ethical Gift Shop (also known as TEGS), an independent shop in Sparks, Bristol working with local makers, artists and creative small businesses.
Our core values are sustainability, inclusivity, and silly joy. We make sure everything on our shelves reflects this, and is carefully selected to provide maximum good vibes.
-
We do not run an online webstore for The Ethical Gift Shop. We are a tiny team and it’s beyond our capacity at this time.
Many of our artists have their own webstores, which are linked via the Maker’s pages.

We carefully select products that reflect our commitment to people, creativity, joy, and the planet. This may include products that are handmade, locally produced, cruelty-free, sustainably sourced, reusable, upcycled or created in small batches.
While we cannot guarantee that every step in the production process is 100% perfect, we believe in the power of doing better and setting a standard for the high street.
Because every maker has their own materials and processes, please ask our team if you would like to know more about a particular product.

Yes! (Usually). Our maker applications close between mid-November and the New Year to allow us to focus on the Christmas shopping period.
If you’re a Bristol or UK-based artist, you are welcome to apply to sell with us via our Application Form.
Please note that if you are applying from outside of Bristol or the surrounding areas, we only accept makers who are part of a marginalised minority group in the UK. This allows us to keep our shelves diverse, and ensure we’re able to platform a range of artists. You can read more information about this on our Application Form.
